Sudan’s Prime Minister Moataz Moussa has stressed the strength and depth of Sudanese-Ethiopian relations, pointing out the historical and cultural ties between the peoples of the two countries.
After his meeting with Moussa in his office in Khartoum on Wednesday, Ethiopian ambassador to Sudan, Shiferaw Jarso, told reporters that the meeting dealt with enhancing cooperation between the two countries in various fields. Ethiopian diplomat stressed that the cooperation between Khartoum and Addis Ababa is going well in all fields.
Ethiopia and Sudan are engaged more and more in joint security, military and economic cooperation.
In April 2017, the two sides signed a number of joint agreements to promote economic relations and strengthen ties between the two countries.
In March 2012, al-Bashir announced his support to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), saying his government understands the mutual benefits the project could offer Ethiopia and Sudan.
