The former US administration envoy to Sudan, Ambassador Scott Gration, stressed that the historic moment has been achieved to remove Sudan from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, noting his conviction that Sudan has met the conditions for its removal from that list.
Gration said the Donald Trump administration might have security reports that it had not seen. “Although I think Sudan has met all the criteria for the cancellation of a state sponsor of terrorism, it is a government decision,” he said according to (Assayha) newspaper.
Gration said that if the new government worked with the international community to curb terrorism, sought to provide security for the Sudanese and ensured a judicial system in which the rule of law prevailed, the international community should remove Sudan from that list.
