Hamdok discusses with Lavrov development of relations with Russia

Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok met in New York with Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, in the presence of Foreign Minister, Asmaa Mohammed Abdalla, and Ambassador Ilham Ibrahim, Foreign Ministry Assistant Under Secretary  for Political Affairs.

During the meeting, Lavrov congratulated Dr. Hamdok for taking office as Sudan’s Prime Minister. The meeting also discussed bilateral relations between Sudan and Russia and ways of enhancing them.

The meeting dealt with the African-Russian summit in Sochi and Sudan’s participation in it, as well as the continuation of the work of the joint committee between Sudan and Russia.

The meeting also assured the continuation of cooperation and coordination between the two countries on all issues of common concern.
