The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor ordered the release of seven armed forces officers in the attempted coup d’état, including Major General Tayeb al-Mesbah, the former governor of the Nile.
The prosecutor’s decision on Thursday canceled the General Intellegence Services (GIS)’s communication against the officers directing to release them.
The prosecution confirmed the continuation of proceedings against the other defendants, provided that the parties are notified of the decision and their right to appeal and record the date of the notification.
